A polyline layer layer for communicating who, what, when, and where sidewalk installation and maintenance is to occur, according to a five year plan maintained by public works. In April of 2023 the feature class was redesigned to better accommodate mapping and communication with the introduction of non-ambiguous field names and domain values. Originally this dataset was built from an existing sidewalk survey layer. SO it included fields like 'Sidewalk Condition" , and other values left over from geoprocessing which are not useful in this layer as a planning tool. This layer is used by other city departments to communicate future sidewalk repairs. If other departments care to , they can contribute to this dataset by adding places they intend to install sidewalk as well. |

"New Sidewalk" describes sidewalk that is being constructed for the first time, to either fill in gaps, or install for an entire roadway or neighborhood. "Maintenance" describes work that we repair existing sidewalk, which often times means the old sidewalk is ripped out and new installed. Maintenance is more costly than new sidewalk installs.

[Year] the four digit year the work is being planned. You may see lots of records with year designation 2055. These were projects that are deemed to be future CIP projects, but since a year has not been determined, some arbitrary distance year was used.

[Status] status of the project.
